Tips for caring for your jewelry
These cleaning instructions are intended for sterling silver and gold-filled jewelry.
Do not use any chemicals on the other wires, including artistic wire.
Since your jewelry is handcrafted, please handle each piece with care when cleaning.
Silver Jewelry ~ Cleaning instructions
For sterling silver, we recommend a cleaner specifically made to clean silver. You can use a liquid jewelry cleaner which can be purchased at Wal-Mart or jewelry stores.
Do not immerse the entire piece into the solution; rather, dip a Q-tip into the liquid cleaner and dab the metal part of jewelry only.
You don't want to damage any of the beads or findings used in your jewelry. So, use the cleaner sparingly and only on the metal parts.
Rinse the jewelry with warm water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
You can also purchase a polishing cloth to clean your silver jewelry. These cloths or wipes for gold and silver jewelry can be found at jewelry, department, and discount stores.
If you prefer a more natural way to clean sterling silver, you can use a little bit of toothpaste (not gel) on the metal, then rinse and dry...it really works!
Gold Jewelry ~ Cleaning instructions
A liquid cleaner specifically recommended for cleaning gold jewelry is recommended. You can also buy this at Wal-mart or jewelry stores.
As with the silver pieces, dip a Q-tip into the solution and apply the liquid only to the areas of the jewelry made of gold.
Again, it is a good idea to use this method since some of the stones or beads in a jewelry piece could be damaged by the chemical solution.
After the gold has been dabbed with the cleaner, rinse the piece under running water and dry with a soft cloth.
